What's Included in the GAC2700UGMA Box?

Your GAC2700UGMA shipment includes everything you need to get started:

  • GAC2700UGMA grain moisture tester
  • Protective dust bag (covering the unit)
  • Load cell locking brackets (factory-installed in the locked position)
  • Allen key for the load cell locking brackets
  • Abbreviated Owner's Manual
  • Triangular 110V power cord
  • Cleaning brush
  • Top and bottom custom Styrofoam inserts

Before you begin, remove all packaging materials and confirm every component is present.

Important: Keep the original shipping box, Styrofoam inserts, and Allen key. If your GAC2700UGMA ever needs calibration or service, the original packaging protects the unit during shipping and reduces the risk of damage in transit.

How to Unbox & Set Up the GAC2700UGMA

Step 1: Open the Box and Locate the Allen Key

Open the top of the shipping box. In the top Styrofoam cutout you'll find the Allen key for the load cell locking brackets.

This is a critical tool for setup, so set it aside somewhere safe. Retain the Styrofoam for any future reboxing.

Step 2: Remove the Tester from the Box

Lift the tester out of the box. The unit ships inside a customized protective bag that keeps it clean from dust and debris during transit.

Remove the bag and set it aside.

Step 3: Find the Load Cell Locking Bracket Notice

You'll see a load cell locking bracket notice taped just under the top of the instrument. This is your reminder that the load cell is locked for shipping and must be unlocked before use (covered in Step 6).

Step 4: Check the Bottom of the Box

At the bottom of the box you'll find the bottom Styrofoam insert and a tools bag containing the manual. Keep both inserts for future service shipments.

Step 5: Review the Kit Contents

Inside the kit that ships with the moisture tester, you'll find:

  • Abbreviated Owner's Manual β€” the full manual is available to download on theΒ  product page.
  • Triangular 110V power cord β€” bundled with a twist tie.
  • Cleaning brush β€” use it in cleaning mode to remove dust or clear anything stuck in the instrument, such as a piece of cob.

Step 6: Unlock the Load Cell

This is the most important step before testing. Lay the unit down on its back, it's safe to rest the GAC2700UGMA on the back of the moisture analyzer.

Inside the tester you'll see the load cell locking brackets, fastened in the upright (locked) position. To unlock the load cell:

  • Use the Allen key to loosen the Allen screws on the brackets.
  • Slide the brackets down into the lower (unlocked) position.
  • Reapply the Allen screws to hold the brackets at the bottom of the tester.

Securing the brackets in the lower position both unlocks the load cell for use and keeps the brackets from getting lost for future service.

Step 7: Connect Power and Replace the Drawer

The power cord insert is located on the bottom of the unit. Connect the triangular 110V power cord.

Replace the sample drawer on the unit. A limit switch inside detects the drawer, so once it's back in place the unit is ready to power on.

Step 8: Power On and Begin Testing

The power switch is the only button on the front of the instrument. Press it, and the GAC2700UGMA will boot up, load the instrument software, and power the unit.

Once it's up, your tester is ready to run grain moisture tests.

What Ports Does the GAC2700UGMA Have?

The GAC2700UGMA is built for easy connectivity. On the back of the instrument you'll find:

  • Ethernet port
  • USB-to-USB ports
  • Micro USB port
  • RS232 port

The front of the instrument includes two additional USB ports alongside the power switch.

Don't Throw Away the Original Packaging

The custom shipping box, Styrofoam inserts, and Allen key were designed specifically to protect your GAC2700UGMA during transport.

If your tester ever needs:

  • Calibration
  • Inspection
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Repair or service

we strongly recommend shipping it in the original box with the protective inserts, using the Allen key to re-lock the load cell brackets in the upright position, to minimize the chance of damage in transit.Β
