How to Calibrate the Seedburo 9000AG Computer Grain Grading Scale

Accurate weighing is an important part of grain grading and sample evaluation. Regular calibration helps ensure that the Seedburo 9000AG Computer Grain Grading Scale continues to provide consistent, reliable measurements.

In the video above, Sean demonstrates how to calibrate the 9000AG using a certified 2,000-gram test weight.

What You Need
Before beginning the calibration process, make sure you have:

• A Seedburo 9000AG Computer Grain Grading Scale
• A certified 2,000-gram calibration weight
• A clean, stable and level work surface

If the scale must be officially placed into service, additional certification may be required through your state’s Department of Weights and Measures or another authorized service provider.

How to Calibrate the 9000AG

1. Locate the Hidden Calibration Button
   A hidden button is located underneath the Seedburo emblem on the front of the scale. You should be able to feel the raised area of the button underneath the emblem.
   
   
2. Enter Calibration Mode
   Press and hold the hidden calibration button and the Print button at the same time for approximately two seconds.
   
   The display will enter the CAL ZERO mode.
   
   
3.  Complete the Zero Calibration
   Make sure the weighing platter is empty, then press the Zero button.
   
   The scale will begin a countdown. Allow the countdown to finish before moving to the next step.
   
   
4. Place the Certified Weight on the Scale
   When the display shows CAL FS, carefully place the certified 2,000-gram weight in the center of the weighing platter.
   
   Press the Zero button again.
   
   The scale will complete another countdown and display the weight of the 2,000-gram test weight.
   
   
5. Confirm the Calibration
   Remove the certified weight from the platter.
   
   The scale should return to a reading of 0.0. Once the display returns to zero, the calibration process is complete.

Placing the Scale Into Service

Calibration and official certification are not always the same process.

If the 9000AG must be placed into service for commercial or regulated use, the scale may need to be inspected and certified by your state’s Department of Weights and Measures or another authorized service provider.

Requirements can vary by state, so confirm the applicable regulations before placing the scale into service.
