The Riffle Divider is used for halving dry materials. As the product is poured into the hopper, it is divided into two equal portions by a series of chutes which discharge alternately in opposite directions. Prices include 4 stainless steel dividers, galvanized iron pans, scoop and cleaning brush. The R75 is enclosed and all other models are open style as shown in the photograph.Extra scoops and brushes are available from Seedburo, please contact us for prices.
R66, R92 and R75 come with stainless steel pans. All others come with galvanized pans.
Various procedures and methods of use on the Riffle Type Divider exist. There is some variation on this use, therefore we are providing why multiple pans are included with each divider. Our kits include 4 dividers, additional Pans are available to purchase if you require additional for your specific application.
This video shows the basic methods for the initial sample division and the methods used to make sure that the sample is handled correctly to maintain accuracy and traceability. Note that the presenter will be using not only the Collection pans, but also the Flat Pan and Brush in this demonstration. He demonstrates with the use of a flat bottom pan, but this "Delivery" Pan could have been the "Third" Sample pan. The Sample Pans provided with the Riffle dividers are all the same size.

This second video, the presenter is now making a second split of the same original sample. This may be necessary to further reduce the bulk size of the sample for the additional test procedure. He does not provide details on this required sample size, but just indicates that it must be reduced further.

Note that in the second video the Original sample has already been divided, therefore these two portions remain in their Collection Pans. In order to replace these original Collection Pans, you would need TWO additional pans that now become the new Collection Pans for the next sample split procedure. One of the two original Collection Pans now becomes the Delivery Pan for the next step in the division of the sample. Rather than place those collected samples in alternate pans, and avoid risk of contamination of the sample, these portions remain at the test location and are simply moved away to allow for the additional empty Collection Pans to take their place and become ready to receive the next sample split.
